Sound Calibrator

MF008

The Microflown Sound Calibrator is a Class 1 precision acoustic calibrator, designed to provide quick and efficient field calibration for Microflown sensors and probes. Our acoustic calibrator is battery-operated and conforms to both IEC 60942 and ANSI S1.40 standards, ensuring its high accuracy. Offering two distinct levels and frequencies, it enables a thorough verification of sensor sensitivity for both sound pressure and particle velocity sensors. Moreover, the Microflown Sound Calibrator measures environmental parameters like air pressure, temperature, and humidity, displaying them on a user-friendly OLED screen. Each unit is accompanied by an accredited calibration certificate for guaranteed precision and reliability.

Why Acoustic Field Calibration?

Field calibration is a critical aspect of ensuring accurate measurements. Deviations in ambient conditions can compromise data integrity. Regular field calibration verifies the accuracy of your equipment, saving time and resources while enhancing the reliability of your data. This practice is essential for efficient, high-quality work in any field that relies on precise measurements.

Field Calibration for Microflown Sensors&Probes
Experience the power of our custom-made adapters that enable seamless integration between our sound calibrator and state-of-the-art acoustic particle velocity sensors. Our smart design allows you to achieve a precise reference level for both acoustic sensors housed within a sound intensity PU probe without losing the possibility to calibrate regular pressure microphones.

What is the role of a sound calibrator in field calibration?
A sound calibrator is used to verify the accuracy of sound and vibration measurement devices in the field. It ensures these devices are providing precise readings, enhancing the reliability of your data.A sound calibrator is designed to produce a specific sound pressure level at a given frequency. The common reference sound pressure level should comply with international standards. Sinusoidal signals of 250 Hz or 1 kHz at 94 dB or 114 dB are the most common settings.

How often should I perform field calibration?
The frequency of field calibration can depend on several factors, such as the device's usage, the manufacturer's recommendations, and the level of precision required in your measurements. For Microflown sensors, it is recommended to perform a field calibration before a new measurement campaign.
